These alder nightstands are for a family gift exchange this christmas. I left them unfinished so whoever gets them can color match to their existing furniture. The legs are made from 8/4 alder with a four sided taper. The skirts are joined by pinned mortise and tennons. The drawers are also all alder with hand cut half blind dovetails. The underside of the tops were chamfered down with a handplaned to lighten up the appearance. I think i got the proportions right, maybe a little less height on the skirt next time. Fun little project, I’m sure they will be fought over in the exchange haha.

Wow, can I be part of your family? Methinks you’re correct, they’ll likely be some tusslin’ to see who gets those.

Ya it should be funny. There is a $40 gift cost limit for the exchange and I’m into these like $4 for the drawer pulls haha. Since they are worth way more than the limit it should be a good fight. All the material I got free from my father’s stock pile. Thanks Dad!
