Two baby grand pianos for Christmas presents . These are a popular as a decorator item and both my daughters had them on their wish list so I made these two for them each just a little different but only the lid one having a light coloured band .The wish was for an older look like they where some time ago ,a oil and wax finish worked just right .

These are made from some very dark shop cut walnut veneer on a plywood core hammer veneered with hot hide glue and the keyboards have all the keys like a real keyboard all eighty eight individually cut and glued to base .Just to give you an idea the size of the keys are 4mm for the light and 1.6mm for the dark coloured ones just to give you an idea how much fun I had making them .

Very nice detail work in them. They could almost be keepsake boxes. Well done Klaus. And I bet those keys were fun to do.

Nice work Klaus. With hot hide glue and tiny pieces mastered, can marquetry be far behind? You’re half way there now. I’ll talk you into it yet. ..... :-)

Have a good one.
