Curley Maple Jewelry Box

Last one before Christmas… The box is 9” x 6” x 3 1/2” and is Curley Maple veneer over a 1/2” Baltic birch ply box. African blackwood was used for the edging and base molding. The base molding is routed with a double curve ogee bit. Brusso hinges and velvet monogram interior with a gloss rubbed lacquer finish. The brass makers mark or the bottom was acid etched brass.

Thanks for looking,
Paul

Paul,
Lovely box. My compliments. Your interior and bottom details are well done indeed. Can’t wait to see your next one.

Hi meaded,
have a look at this website for instructions on brass etching
http://www.instructables.com/id/Etching-brass-plates/
It may take a few tries but the key is clean brass. Wash the brass with ammonia and lacquer thinner.
If you need more help let me know,

Classy box!
Its really hard to beat a simple design with strong contrasting colors like this one.
Well done.
