I made a pair of boxes, as per these, for a friend, about 15 months ago.
Turns out another couple saw them and just had to have their childrens’ shoes boxed up as an heirloom. I took that as a compliment and made these for them. I don’t know that I can properly call them boxes, as they don’t open. Had to be very careful when gluing up as any excess glue on the inside cannot be cleaned up after assembly. The glass has chamfered edges which I think makes the design look a lot better than plain glass. The wood is maple.

Yes ! beautiful box-frames.
And hopefully when these children grown up, they would do the same, not to their childrens’ shoes but to their parents’ shoes.
