Hey everyone,
This is my fist attemp/s at candle holders. I used a hole saw to cut the holes (but I bought the candles first to match up the size)
The legs are just glued on (I ran a trial to see how they would hold, and they were suprisingly strong) and the edges are beveled on a 45 degree angle.
I used olive oil for the finish, yes olive oil and it seems to be as good as any other lacquers i have tried.
I am not sure what the wood is but it is a hard wood with faint stripes ( It’s not zebra wood)
there is another design coming but my Mitre saw is temporarily out of order :(
i will post it as soon as it’s finished
thanks for looking.

Olive oil will become rancid over time and your projects will probably accumulate sticky , gooey dust on them as the oil never really dries as a finish . As far as the wood goes , and the color as it appears to be on my monitor , I would guess that you have some QS Cherry there . JMO

Very nice candle centerpieces. They have become wonderful showpieces.
