So I was able to purchased my first selection of exotic (?) wood from an estate sale, of all places. They had two approximately 6 foot pieces of Brazilian Cherry wood (Jatoba) and about 6 pieces same lemgth of South American Black Walnut. I estimate about $300 retail … got it for $25 :). Now what to do with it.

Well I have been wanting to make a couple of nice snack tables fo rthe sofa. Ones that looked nice enough we did not have to put away all the time. This was th eperfect time.

Glued up the two tops 14” x 18” and then bought some Red oak from the big box store for the legs. I did not want a bulky piece so I tried to copy from this catalog picture.

I think it came out pretty good, although I made a bunch of mistakes, but that is what we learn from.
