Using Robert Millard’s plans and Glen Huey’s finishing formula for finishing Tiger Maple, I built these Pipe Boxes as teacher gifts for my kids’ teachers.

They came out OK, but I found that I just HATE shellac as it dries too fast to work (for me anyway) and the tiger maple ones had a couple of small runs in the finish.

The 2 on the left are made using American Black Walnut, while the 2 on the right are made from Curly (Tiger) Maple.

Beautiful boxes, nice top ends and edges.

Beautiful project! Did you use band saw or scrollsaw?

Thank you all.
I used the scroll saw.

Have your say...
