This was a quick project that I threw together for church. They needed a place to hang some quiet bags for the young kids. The bags were just left on the floor in a small closet. This board was placed up on the wall to help organize the bags. Made from scrap that I had hanging around, 3/4 inch Oak plywood for the field and trim out of some Red Oak and then Oak pins to hang the bags on. I had been hanging onto those pins for at least 15 years. The wife is always asking why I hang onto the stuff that I am not using…..See!!! I do eventually use it. Lets see now, storage costs, environmental costs, transportation costs…...carry the one…..yep, those pins only cost $10 each.

Great looking project. Love the trim and the functionality! Glad you found a use for those pins after all .. I find it very difficult to get rid of things like that too.

Looks good…........I’m thinking you should have staggered the bottom row of pins to ease accessibility. That means you would have only had 3 pins on the bottom but then those bags wouldn’t be completely covered up by the top bags. Just my 2 cents. Besides, then you would have 1 extra pin you could hang onto for another 10 years until you found a use for it.

I see a place for blue bags and brown bags… So whose the wiseguy that hung all those multi-colored bags there? LOL

And tell your wife that you’re not the only one who holds on to things “Just in case I ever need it.” I’ve got stuff I’ve been carting thru 10 or 15 moves that I “still might find a use for one day”

And USUALLY, when ever I DO throw something away, I realize 2 days later that I “Coulda used that what-cha-ma-callit” that I just threw away!”
