Christmas gifts for my Mom and Sister. The wall vase is made from mahogany and walnut. The mahogany part was cut on the bandsaw and has a wavy pattern on the face, which is hard to see in the poor picture. I cut out the shape trying to leave a lot of saw marks, I then lightly sanded it to leave an interesting tactile element to the piece. the walnut shelf is about 1/4” thick and has straight, flat faces, which contrast and hopefully complement the mahogany part. There is a hole in the shelf that holds a test tube that can house fresh cut flowers. I have fake flowers in there now, so there would be no question on what this thing is, and to make shipping easier.

I hope they like it as much as I do.
