I made a box for my work’s gift exchange the year.

I’m not 100% happy with the mitered corners, maybe the top will take away from that.

Put a slight bevel on the under side of the lid.
Tried something different with the design, going with a larger lid then box body, I think it needs some refinement for the next one.

44 pieces of veneer for the top, maple and mahogany, and maple for the box body.

pretty cool – evidently it’s not as top heavy as it appears ?

miter’s didn’t look bad – how are you cutting them ? I had a h&!! of a time with miters until I got my Incra Miter Gauge. Actually, I have 2 of them, a V120 and a 1000HD, heck of it is that the 120 will cut a miter as well as the 1000hd at a lot less cost up front
