A little menorah to start the holiday off right – it will stay in our family, but it was built for a menorah building competition at our temple.

Height is 13 inches, width is about 10. The body is cherry with oak, padauk, wenge, walnut, and blood wood splines, the base is black walnut and cherry, and the candle holders are axel covers from HD.

As always, comments, suggestions, or other thoughts on the project are welcome n

As always primo work my brother. If you work on some variations I’d like to see one with the cherry base. Also I know I’m in the minority but I like dark with light accents so the dark walnut body with maple, oak and padauk spines would be interesting.

Thank you all! The kids really liked seeing it last night!
Jim – I agree! That would be great. The truth with this one is that I had started it for a cutting board a while ago, but put it aside and Sunday I looked at it and decided to do a bit of rush work to make it into a Menorah before our Hanukkah party tonight! Definitely have some variations in mind for the next one!

Have your say...
