I recently got a lathe and these are my first finished projects. They’re from some cherry, padauk and yellow heart scraps. The padauk and yellow heart one is finished with minwax wax and the cherry is finished with amber shellac. These are great fun and wonderful practice. I’ll be making more just for the fun of it. Once I amass enough, I might order more stopper bottoms and head to a craft show.

Nice design on the pointed one. Some think you should keep the top flat or rounded so you can press it down without getting a pointed section in your hand. These are so much fun and easy to make! Keep turning!

Thanks all for the complements. Good point Bob on the “pointy” tops. I realized that, so I made that little cove for a thumb and forefinger to fit and give a good grip to push the top in.

Yes , the two tone is my favorite as well ….Being a non-drinker , I never would have thought about the pointy ends as being a problem . Thanks to BobA in NJ for that Fun fact . Great job here , adding to my favorites : )

Nicely shaped stoppers. Keep the creative juices flowing.
