Christmas box

My daughter has been complaining about loosing her phone at night, so for Christmas I decided to make her a cradle for her phone to keep on her night stand. She can also keep jewelry or what ever in the box. I traded for some old exotic wood laying around a friends shop. Come to find out some of it was olive and king wood. Lately it seems to me that every one picks on me for building every thing out of cedar, so this was a nice little change up. I didn’t like the smell of this wood cutting it or sanding it, but it’s sure pretty, but not enough to give up my cedar. This project was finished with a clear gloss polyurethane finish.

Todd, nice gift. Organizing stuff is what boxes do best. If you ever get tired of clamping stuff, you might try this or this. I like your idea and the box you made. Keep boxing and keep posting.

Great looking Box Mate, and it has a double purpose. All the better.
Thanks for showing,
Bob.

-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better. I've cut this piece of wood 4 times and it's still too damn short.

Great piece. Great design.

To those who complain about everything cedar, tell them to get a life. Most don’t build half of what you do.

-- Mother Nature created it, I just assemble it.
