Kitchen Island

We had a small table and chairs in the kitchen and it was not very functional when working in the kitchen or when we had people over. I decided to build an island to fit the kitchen. My wife had seen a few online that she liked and I took a few different styles and pictures as inspiration. I bought a Kreg Jig recently and made good use of it on this project. I wanted to use dovetail joints for the drawers but I have never done them before and ended up using the Kreg Jig for the drawers as well. They turned out nice but I did need to tweak them a little after assembly. I had used a standard board table top on my first project and was not happy with the spacing between the boards. For this project I used my router to groove each board and join the top with glue using pipe clamps. Definitely honing my skills, I am seeing a big improvement from my previous project.

Nice Island and build Keep on the way you are going and you should always see some growth from the previous project.

Blessings, Todd
