Two commissioned boxes for sisters; one in cherry and walnut, one maple and walnut.
Kerfmaker box dividers, trays and turned mahogany knobs.
Shellac and wax finish rubbed out to satin.

Wooded, I kinda ripped that off of Doug Stowe, but they do look nice!
Thanks again all! I’m working on a way to get the footed trays to interlock with the dividers so there’s no lateral shifting around when the box is moved, but I didn’t spend enough time to get it exactly dialed in on these two. Had to hit the deadline.

The captured shelf pin as hinge is working out quite well, and very economically. I have some 3mm to 5mm pins that let the lid be a little thinner.

Nice boxes! I like the design also – cool bottom detail and I like the way that the box joints are accentuated by the contrasting woods
