Hope chest #4. One more to go! This one is 3/4” solid oak – much of it quarter sawn. Designed it to have a full extension drawer, rather than the typical tray like my previous chests.
Red mahogany stain and 3 coats of wipe-on poly. (I may brush a 4th coat on the lid.)
Completely cedar lined as is the bottom of drawer. It’s on castors for easier mobility and of course the torsion hinges really stabilize the heavy lid (3/4 oak ply w/1/4” cedar). It measures 19” deep x 35” long and stands 25” tall.
Thanks for looking!

Very nice chest, Larry.

If I may ask, how did you make he panels on the front and sides? I have been wanting to try something like that (pretty new to woodworking).
