Koa Kandle Holders...You probably know that I am a big fan of Hawaiian Koa wood. Well, a friend asked me to make a pair of personalized Koa tealight candle holders for him to present to some folks that have hosted him on Oahu several times. So, here are two matching pieces, personalized and sporting a special Hawaiian sentiment…... Mai iloko mai...which means, *That which is within matters.”
The holders are constructed entirely of koa and finished with satin poly. The legs are canted at 10 degrees and have the lower rails dadoed in and the upper ones sitting in a rabbet. The individual platforms for the candle cups are also dadoed onto the lower rails. They measure 12 inches long, 4.25 inches wide and 2.75 inches tall. The glass cups are set into snug circular depressions to hold them in place. I put the glass cups on seperate platforms with about a half inch between them, so that the light from the flames can be seen to flicker on the surface under the holder.

Exceptionally beautiful tea light candle holders, great idea on the personalized Hawaiian sentiment.
This is why I made you a buddy just to see what great project you would come up with next.

Thanks for sharing.
