Floating shelf

My wife requested a shelf. Wood magazine had this plan in one of their issue’s a while back. My first time doing veneer.

Thanks. It is walnut. Solid walnut for the sides and front. I used a paper backed veneer on the top and bottom. I placed the veneer onto a luan plywood meant for underlayment. I finished it with a tongue oil. Which I have decided is pretty much just a polyurethane. The shelf is slid over a frame that you screw to the wall. The fame was made of some pine boards I had laying around in the shop.
