As we get older, bending over seems to get more difficult. So now when the wife says it’s my turn to change laundry loads, it is much easier on both of us! Just a 2×4 platform and cut the turned posts off an old headboard and turned them upside down for the decorative front legs. I wanted to paint it white the like the trim work, but lost that battle and had to paint it to match the walls.

I made something similar for my Son and opted to have the stands removable and wanted to place fronts on to avoid dust collecting under but He said No. Oh well.

I wanted to build something similar, any problems with shaking or vibrations?

Extrmach, sorry it took so long for a reply! With the 4×4 old bed posts as legs and reinforced in the corners, it turned out very sturdy. However I may be adding something underneath as it now acts like a bass cabinet during the spin cycle of large loads. Maybe I should box it in and put a couple of 12” woofers for a whole house subwoofer?
