This was a great project to help me develop my turning skills. Took some old scrap pieces of pine 2×4 and cut them into 5” chunks. Here are 11 of the 18 I did for ornaments. Note the Nail hole in one hat :) Grand kids (who have taken 7 already) helped with layout and sanding and will decorate them with markers for faces and buttons. Got the idea from the Artistry in Wood Show. My grand daughter suggested the stocking cap idea.

Very nice. I hope you used sanding sealer or the markers will bleed.

Looks great!. I’m turning 45 snowmen for my family. I made Christmas trees last year. Every year I’ll turn something for on the tree.

I love them, particularly the stocking cap. I’ve been making Christmas ornaments from pine and box store maple for practice too. It’s fun and a good teacher.
