This is my version of the Da Vinci Catapult design. I used rubber bands instead of the tension rods that Da Vinci used. i might still try that method. this still needs some fine tuning but we had fun shooting the kids toy castle with it.

I can just see those wheels turning in the heads of inquisitive children, straight line tension converted into rotary motion, how a ratchet works, the value of simple things well made, the art of war,,, now my wheels are turning.

nah, i just googled it. there are copies and images of Da Vinci’s plans everywhere.

I like Yours, It looks like it will be a ton of fun to play with! Nice work! My version is very simple but it works ok!
