One of my favorite woods to work with. The DNR calls this Piss Elm short life span dies standing when the bark starts to fall off its ready to work. Some pieces I have not even coated with any kind of finish and they sit in the window in the sun with no cracking. Looks like oak grain with a nice brown color.

Nice turnings! Love the grain figure. Very interesting.
Have you worked with aspen yet? If, not, give it a shot. It’s a joy to work with.

Absolutely stunning wood, and great job with the turning.

-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better. I've cut this piece of wood 4 times and it's still too damn short.
