I built these 2 rocking horses in about a week and a half just before Christmas about 3 years ago. Everything was pretty much done with a drill, a jigsaw, a circular saw, a palm sander and a few files. I had help from my wife in the finishing process, staining and coating them. I couldn’t find any rocking horse plans online that I liked so i created the image I had in my head and it turned out much better than expected.

The Body is three laminated pieces of plywood, the middle section has the tail. I believe I cut everything for both out of a single sheet of birch plywood.

These were much loved gifts and sturdy enough that even the adults rode on them a few times!

These turned out very well even with them having to be done with a time crunch.
