Got this from one of the wooden pallets at work. Unsure of the species, look like the texture of maple or cherry but could be anything really.
This is the top half of it.
From time to time I find some interesting looking wood amond these pallets.
Any ideas on what to make with it. Only 1 board.

Interesting wood! I vote small box or picture frame for project selections.

thats a great find, needle in a haystack of pallets. Any clue what company it came in from, might hint at a region or country of origin.

Scottb – Very interisting that you should say that. I would never had thought of looking into that. I am going to work today and find out. Might be far away from east coast might not, interesting thought though.
Thanks

All of the other wood is easily identified as Pine. This one to me does not look like pine but I am certainly no expert.

3/8” to 1/2” Thick?!
Bring it over and I bet I have a perfect fitting scroll saw pattern.
I have one of some wild Mustangs running that would fit.

I think picture frame would be nice. I too have been using some pallets I’ve found for sources of wood. Just using them in jigs for now but some of the wood may be usable for other projects.

sometimes Pallets contain all species of wood, I personally have gotten at least 5 other species other than Pine.
Nice find !!!

Thanks,
I have not used it yet.
I was thinking drawer fronts for something small.
Wish I had more of it

My father used to work for the worlds largest sock manufacturer they would get pallets in from all over the world. Thats how I learnt that expensive wood in one place is anothers throw away wood.
Have your say...
