built this clamping jig for a miter joint, nothing more than scrap wood, a piece of plywood, and a piece of 1 inch dowel rod that is glued and brad nailed, and a filler piece. this works great, when making a flag display and not a complete square or box.

clamp to the sides first to hold them in place, then you can draw them together with the center clamp on the dowel rod.

I made a couple more so I can have more than one going at the same time

Nice idea, sure someone sells them but you made them and can make more with nothing more than as you said, scrap.
