Well just in time for the holidays, more Skateboards.

I like riding Long-boards down at the beach after work. I work at LAX which is on the Ocean, so this makes it very convenient.

The first one is my take on a Surf Board. Its made of Mahogany, Hard Maple & Walnut. Its about 5/8 thick solid wood.

I have been dealing with Koastal Boards, http://www.koastal.co/ who make the trucks and love them. If you notice they have a locking tab to prevent wheel bite. This is a good thing when your pushing 50. LOL Falling seems to hurt more now.

Braker wheels are OK, but will not deal with them again owner is VERY RUDE… I have found Boss Hawgs wheels to be better.

The other boards are
A) Paduak, Purple Heart and Ipe

B) Blue Oak ( which is my board and Love this wood.) Its hard as a rock.

I use Lucid spray on grip system its 2 parts and I love it. I found grip tape gits dirty and you cant see the wood. Lucid you can re-apply right over old grip when worn-out, and great for touch ups

Hey Ken!

You do a great job of making your skateboards…

One of my Grandsons was into using them… he crashed & broke his arm / wrist VERY BADLY… which has metal rods in there somewhere… He’s finally back to normal… but, I don’t think he rides them anymore… he just went into the Marines! Arm healed very well, I guess.

So, Have Fun… BUT, be Very Careful!!

Have a nice Thanksgiving!

Very nice Ken! Those boards are fantastic.

This past summer was a longboarding summer for our family. We love getting out and cruising!

Be sure to give me a holler when you are up here. We still need to head to Alki for some coffee and longboarding!

Great looking skate boards!

And don’t go chasing any parked cars.

Don’t know much about BOARDS like these but they certainly are interesting since they are made of wood and I like just about anything made from wood .
That wheel setup ,the spray on finish and that blue oak all got me thinking about applications elsewhere .
The riding of these I will get you young guys to have fun with and you think it’s hard falling and the body hurts wait for what’s coming . LOL
Nice job Ken and enjoy the ride I am happy for you !

Take care Klaus

Great looking boards Ken! Nice wood combos and being able to see the decks is nice. I second the video.
