I didn’t have time to make a new project for this contest.
I found this little guy rotting away in our backyard.
The poor guy lost his right paw. The ants took over, & ate too much of him.
He’s carved from an old Cottonwood tree, which isn’t too weather resistant.
Besides being a delicacy for the ants. LOL
He must be about 20 years old now. That’s kind of old for a bear.
He’s still faithfully watching over our backyard.
Addendum: May 4, 2009
I just found a picture when the Bear was fairly new, in 1992, with his scarf, & tassel cap.
Now, Chickadees’ are making a nest in him.

dick, I don’t know who your going to fool, with that smile he’s not really very scarry. in fact hes really very cute. with the apple tree hanging down be hind him there’s no doubt that ants are attracted. I think that in return for all the years of faithful service he has earned a good retirement, away from ants, indoors away from severe weather and possibly some applied ‘medication’ that will slow down his aging ( most of us older folks know about those kind of meds)

rtb, Thanks.
I did medicate him a few years back.
I filled a large crack in his head with granulated Ant poison,
but I think I acted on it too late.
I don’t think I want those Ants in my house.<(:O)#

Ouch! Alistar.
I forgot to mention that he had ants long before the apple tree got this big.
