Project Information

This cherry burl came from some property in Wisconsin. It was very challenging with tough grain, knots, knot holes and natural fractures. This is 8-1/2" diameter by about 4-1/2" high. I am very pleased with the final result. Every time I put tool to work I felt the risk I was taking in ruining a gorgeous natural wood specimen. If you look closely you can see the knot which I left in place after cutting through the knot hole area. I finished simply with Watco natural.
