8.5×15 x 5.5 Pine, with Cedar liner, and Red Wood lid trim.. The tray is lined with leather. They will be filled with Xmas gifts for the Grandsons. Thanks for looking….. I thought I’d better put something on line here, as it’s been nearly a year since I last posted a project….. I have been busy making things just not posting, but I’m on LJ’s nearly every day looking and learning…... Bob

Hi Bob
Great to see you posting these two wonderful boxes that are a perfect style for the boys with the fingerjointed corners and I love that pine .
The cedar liner and leather make a nice interior finish and should give a nice aroma ,also the hardware and trim finish the outside very well .
Hope you won’t be as long again with your next project !

Take care Klaus

The Grand sons will be pleased!
Now the question is, When they get older will they replicate their Grandfathers fine workmanship again?

Those boxes are realy beautiful, with all those finger joint corners and other magnificant deatils. Not to mention nice wood you used to make them.

These are awesome Bob. I like the cedar inside and serves as the lip for the upper box/s. Very nicely done.
