Walnut Queen Bed

It’s been a long time since I posted my sofa table.
I am back here with my first bed :)
This queen bed was a big challenge cause I’ve tried neither greene and greene ebony plugs nor bed rail fasteners, so I had to make some jigs and template guide.
The french cleat center beam was from Woodwhisperer.
When I saw the Dragon Platform Bed, I was impressed and thought it would be cool to use for my bed.
The biggest project that I’ve done ever, tough work, but it’s worth it.
3 coats of Danish oil and some wipe on poly for the slats.
Thanks for watching!

Beautiful! What kind of wood did you use on the slats?

Thank you guys
@Dabcan:
I used Birch instead of Maple, but I think they work pretty well because they are also strong enough to support the mattress :)

Very nice work. Is that your own design?

Thank you guys for your compliments.
@BikerDad:
Yes, it’s my own design except the platform construction with french cleat :) If you see my Sofa Table, you can tell I love the curved lines.

Beautiful design. Did you consider putting contrast wood in the smallest squares on the headboard? It was just a thought. Nice build. Favored!
