I posted some of this in the Coffee House forum… But I’m ready for paint and lights now. So the build itself is done.

Every year I go head to head with a neighbor. We both operate on a tight budget, so it gets to be some fun. Usually, I work with scrap or whatever I can scrounge up. I’m never apposed to a little dumpster diving for lumber. I sort of broke the unofficial rules and actually purchased some supplies and paint. So, without thinking it through enough, I’m about $150.00 into this project this year. So, don’t tell my wife or the neighbor.

We’re painting now. Hope to finish it this week..

Well unless your neighbor comes up with a real working locomotive… I think you’ve got this years win!

Well done! I like that. And “Bah, Humbug!” to your neighbor should he find out!

. . . and Merry Christmas!

Cheers!

This is great. If you build items like this every Christmas time, where do you store all of them…must need a garage just for them

Our basement look like Christmas town exploded!.. After this, I’ll be slowing down and just working with what I have. We also have sound system this year. We got it at 50% off last year,

”We also have sound system this year.”

So are YOU going to be THAT neighbor who has a bazillion garish lights, flashing to the beat of EXTREMELY LOUD MUSIC ?

Clark Griswold will be envious of you. :-)

Clark is my inspiration. It sounds like a lot of lights and sounds. But we done it down a bit, no flashing lights, because I have an elderly neighbor. She says she doesn’t mind, but I’ve heard different.

Perhaps you could get her “involved”. Put THIS on her house and maybe she wont mind yours so much!

Most creative use of a post cement form I’ve ever seen! Great work.
