Project Information
The last project of the summer/fall was to renovate our utility building where we store the lawn equipment and supplies. In finishing I decided I wanted a 3 drawer toolbox to have a few choice tools and supplies close at hand rather than walk all the way back to the shop for a screwdriver. Nobody makes a box that fit between the uprights of the metal shelving I was given a few years ago. Being curious I did make a call to one name brand tool manufacturer and the cost for this size cabinet was $3000. A bit rich for my blood so I decided to make my own. Nothing fancy, basic cabinet and drawer making 101. My finish is safety red oil base paint I came across for our favorite price of free. Total cost was $15 for drawer slides and a can of black spray paint for the drawer pulls. As an added touch I glued a emblem I had tucked away in my toolbox at work. Enjoy and be inspired.
