I stabilized the spalted wood with thin ca glue. Was going to sell it but wife made it hers, have to keep her happy.
I used the Classic Twist Pen kit.

very nice wood, and it looks good with the kit. For improvement, the Tenon looks like it was too wide so the band doesn’t cover the twist mechanism. The transition from metal to wood is a little rough, I recommend that bushings not be trusted. Calipers are better.
