Here are more crosses.
I made these for my daughter for a up coming crafts show.
I’ve been playing with rock inlay and these 2 are my first attempts..The green rock is called malachite. I found a few strands of this rock on amazon for like 5.00. I simply used a homemade rock crusher ( found the design on line) to make smaller and smaller pieces then flooded the channel with thin supper glue. Followed up with a brisk sanding till it seemed polished. I have to admit I need to do more research on the proper sandpaper as it went thru the stuff I normally use pretty quickly.
The other crosses with metal I used “woods metal” ..it melts at like 220 and is easy to work with. I still have a ways to go with my technique as it seems amateurish but as in all things it’s the journey that is as important.
I applied a light stain and used glaze coat as a finish..which is a real pain to work with.
Over all I’m pleased with the results. Thanks for looking.
