Well now I can say that I built a Purple jewelry box. I had had the Purple Heart laying around the shop for months.
While the armoire was drying, I was bored so I put this little 8”x6”x 6” jewelry box together.
This is the first box I had ever built that I glued 100% of it up. I had the valor sprayed also, before putting it together.
I had to do something with a totally purple box so I inlayed the fingered maple to break up the the box.
Enjoy.

Totally awesome, dude. “had some purpleheart lying around”....yeah, like I may have an oil well in my flower bed. Where do you come by purpleheart that you let languish in your wood pile got months? Lucky man. I’m lucky if I can find a straight piece of yeller pine. I just finished a box out of Monte’s BKP but it doesn’t look nearly as good as yours.
You’re makeing the rest of us look bad, you had better go fishing. That’s where I’d be if I could. I even have a boat that I bought brand new and used for about 4 hours. Since then it has been borrowed by grandson, son-in-law, family friends and a neighbor. It is a 2009 and doesn’t have 50 hours on it. It just sit while we pay ins. and reg. The wife won’t let me sell it, she says the kids use it. Oh well…...nice box.
