This is a small piece of beech that was turned, hollowed and torched. Has copper paint with patina on it. I made two finials and don’t like either but they will do for now.
C and C welcome

Yep, you sure took the blow torch to this baby Ron
I think the finial in pic #1 is the better of the 2, adds a nice contrast. Arty
cheers

Nice Ron. You don’t mess around when you torch something! I like the copper paint which I think you used to great effect.

Love the Vessel.
Of the 2 finials I like the first one best. However I am with JJ who commented above…....I think it is the color that is wrong for the piece, not the design. Black would be my choice as well. Plus I would spray the whole piece with high gloss. Just my 2 cents.
Thanks for posting.

Very nice piece Ron, wouldn’t like you cooking my toast though. How about a red/orange finial to look like a flame.

...Disco Inferno…

Sorry with that title I just couldn’t resist. Great piece of art. I also like the shape of the first finial but maybe a little bit larger (wider not necessarily taller) and with a dark antique brass or antique gold finish or something in a dark metallic red. Just a thought. Thanks for posting.
