My wife and kids got in the Christmas spirit on her day off and put the tree up yesterday. She asked if I could build a box for the base to class it up a bit. I still had some birch T&G and a couple of hickory newel posts left over from previous projects. I found a few pieces of red oak to finish it off. The first pic is just checking it for fit. The next two pics are after applying a spanish oak stain. We figured the box would work nice for a planter box once the tree comes down.

Now that’s a great way to give a Christmas tree a little bit more presentation. Nicely done.
