Finished this last night. It’s a Birthday gift for my kid sister’s 50th. Wow, my younger sister is getting old.
Originally, it was supposed to be a clock. But changed my mind when we decided to get her some diamond earrings. Well, we needed something to put them in. Some jewelers charge for the box. Then the draw was supposed to sit flush, but the wondering bandsaw blade when cutting off the front (it went through the front) changed that plane. Made with mahogany back and front and pine in the center. It’s finished with Minwax Pecan stain and a semi-gloss spray lacquer. Because that was what I had on hand. I was worried about the green flocking on the inside just being the wrong color. I had it left over from the Chess Box. But it doesn’t look too bad. We Yankees hate spending money when we don’t have to.
