I bought a pile of wood recently at an auction and in the pile was a couple of pieces of pine that were 17” wide and all filthy so I got to looking at it and decided it would make a nice table top. I cut the top to 52” long and left the width alone. I built the legs from some standard 2x lumber that was also in the auction pile. I used mortise and tenon joints for the legs, rails and stretcher and I attached the top with pocket screws. I finshed the top with danish oil and three coats of polyurethane and simply painted the legs with old century carriage black. Now I’m looking for a good project for the other old piece of pine.

Nice table, great work & finish on the top. If you have a place for another table, the other pine board could be used for a matching table, of similar design.
