Today started and finished a project to keep the wife happy. We bought a new foam bed last year and they gave us a bed frame with the sale which worked great because I was in Afghanistan at the time so they set up the bed frame and mattress.

As luck would have it fast forward till last week when one of the three slats made of 1/2” plywood strips failed and could no longer support the box springs and mattress. (Read cheap store bought crap) Really three plywood strips, I hope they saved a buck.

Built 2/4 subframe with cross bracing 2/4’s side to side and three runners from headboard to footboard. On top of the 2/4 frame work are 6 1/4 slats from side to side. Under the entire structure is a 2/4 beam running headboard to footboard to transfer weight like a point load.

The diminsions are 78 &7/8ths wide by 77” long.

The Wife was happy and even helped move the frame into place.

Thanks for looking ( hopefully a new tool is in my future as a thank you from the wife)
