So this is the second part of “Can’t stand seeing old furniture being thrown away”

This was a couple of years ago, when i was living alone and studying. I started seeing a lot of these, arguably cheaply maid, chairs being thrown away by the tens. Every week i would find more in my hometown. So i started picking them up when i drove by discarded ones.

After some time i loaded up 6 of them in my car. I took them down to my parents farm and decided to sand them down and repaint them. Believe it or not but the chair (on the right in the first pic) is a fair representation of the ones in the best condition. I sanded them all down, repainted them and started messing around with some stencils. The questionmark/$ one is my own design/logo, and the uncle Sam stencil was found online..

They served me well for 4 years in my student apartment, but i couldn’t stand throwing them away when i moved. So i took them to a local second-hand shop, the clerk said they could easily sell them. 3 weeks later i came by the store and figured i would stop by to see i any had been sold. To my surprise they sold every single one.

So instead of being burned or put on the landfill, they served me for half a decade. Hopefully they’re still serving someone, somewhere, in Denmark..

Great opportunity for recycled furniture, maybe you will run into someone who purchased one of them

Looks like an $ebay$ sell to me. Nice refinishing job!
