So I have this guy here who gets reclaimed barn wood and he got some special cherry lumber that was harvested and milled by Johnny Cash on his farm. It was found in an abandoned shed decades later. So I used this stuff to make a new kitchen table for my wife’s birthday gift. Took a while and almost ran out of wood but it turned out really nice and has a good simple rustic look we were going for. Used finger joints on the table skirt with pocket screws to hold it together and then the legs have a small ledge cut on them so the outside faces of the legs actually sit under the table skirt a bit helping to hold everything together and pulling the legs outside towards the edges a bit more. Finish was just a bunch of coats of poly.

A great looking table and beautiful wood with an interesting past.

Nice Cherry. I like the ‘rough’ picture too.
