Here’s a relatively simple mobile base. I got the idea from Shopnotes, I believe, where this is the basic mobile base where I will build a rolling cabinet to go over it. I strayed from the plans on the wheels thinking I knew better by using bolts and lock nuts…yeah, I know nothing; the play it had was horrible, so I had to redo them and drill the holes for lag bolts in a lower position (that worked out better because my wheels were not the size they said they were, so it was somewhat dragging on the concrete with the weight of the DP). I also had issues with the levelers as I couldn’t figure out a simple way of making it work, so I came up with my own solution; I used a T-nut leveler from Woodcraft, a coupling nut, full thread bolt, lock nuts, and knobs, plus epoxy to hold it all in place. It’s working very well now. I don’t plan on moving it all that often, so it’s not really an issue to loosen the knobs to move it out of the way for cleaning. Other than that…putting the DP on the actual base was a pain, but I don’t plan on moving it out of the base anytime soon. I’m glad I finished this today so I could start on the cabinet.
