Top is kind-of-spalted maple with a strip of dyed poplar in the middle, floating on top of a hung cabinet.

Very unique and modern design!!
I like hanging things that don’t hit the floor anywhere. Easy for cleaning, too!!

Very nicely done. I like the clean look with no wires showing.

Very cool !!! I liked toggling between the 3’rd and 4th photos. If you do it fast enough, the drawers are talking. :)

My only suggestion is to move the center channel speaker below the display so that it is closer to ear level. It will greatly improve your acoustic experience. All your speakers really should be at ear level.

Thanks for sharing your work with us and enjoy your new set up.

Very nice though I think the cabinet made from natural hard wood or painted black would be bring it out even more, a very nice job.

blackie, i agree. it’s not what i wanted it to do. i wanted it to pop, and as soon as i hung it i thought, “crap, it all blends together…” oh well.

my original design was going to include an architectural design on the doors and drawer fronts with veneers, and then veneer the rest of the case with some high contrasting reconstituted veneer like zebrawood, but the demands of home life suck up so much of my time that this project went on forever and i just wanted to get it done. i have another smaller one to make for the tv room upstairs, smaller, and that i definitely will be doing something more dramatic.

thanks for the input.
