I made this piece to be auctioned for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. The auction will be held as part of this year’s (2014) Memorial Service, held at Fakenham Parish Church in the county of Norfolk, England, next Friday Evening (7th November).

The Head is in Beech, and the handle & block are in Mahogany. This is my 1st attempt at making a Gavel of this kind. I think it worked out well, and hope it sells well too as all the money raised by the auction goes to a good cause.

Nice work. Maybe the auctioneer will buy it.

Great job Keith.
Sure hope the Auction raises the amount it is worth.
Sure is fun to make different stuff.

Bob.

Well folks, I’m delighted to say that this piece raised £35 ($55 US) for the annual Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. Thanks for all the kind comments too….guess I’ll have to think of something else to make for next year…any suggestions??
