I made this as a gift for my wife. It is made from Ash which has a small area of Spalting which I quite like. It has her initials inscribed on the lid. I also turned the pen. I filled it with a marbled note paper called Stratakolour, and a rubber stamp. A friend described it as a nineteenth century laptop! It has rare earth magnets behind contrasting wood buttons that serve as a catch

Very nice, I love the clean lines. I made one several years ago for my oldest daughter, but not nearly so elegant as this! Makes mine look like a packing crate!
