I made this vase for my wife using SpectraPly, Bubinga & Birch veneer. The different angles of the cut give it an interesting pattern.

I put 4 coats of Minwax Tung oil on it with 24 hours between coats. It gets the shiny look after the 3rd coat.

Looks great. Any problems turning the plywood? I found some plywood tears very easy when turning.

No problems at all, SpectraPly is great for turning. I think it must be the process they use to make it. It’s used a lot for duck calls, pepper mills, pens, etc. There are some pics on the company’s website “here”: http://www.cousineauwoodproducts.com/.
