Garage Cabinets

I just needed some extra garage storage for all those random items that go with owning a house such as; paint cans. God, the paint cans. I wanted something simple, without frames, and easy on the pocketbook of course. I managed to build all three of these cabinets, including the center yard implement holder from only two full sheets of 3/4 BC plywood and some clearance hinges. There has to be very careful cutting to get the rough dimensioning for all three but I managed it.

One trick on the inner shelving. Build a jig for the stepped holes to have it be adjustable and just forego purchasing the metal pegs and opt for a simple dowel rod and cut it down to small pegs. It might not be as heavy duty as the metal but I haven’t had it fail on me with well over 50lbs worth of items on a single shelf.

Nice work! Next you could paint the paneling and the cabinets white or light gray and really brighten up the garage.

We shall see if I can manage to get some primer and paint on them this winter as that can be a good hybrid indoor outdoor project.
