Mergatroid is a Cajun Art Decko wall hanging shelf I just completed out of Tiger maple and Leopardwood. It hangs with two recessed metal keyhole slots so it will remain stable and flush against the wall.

24”x12”x 4.5” and finished with Minwax Antique oil finish… I made two that are almost identical out of a nice maple board I pulled out of the old lumber pile. The other has Bubbabinga shelves and a slightly different design on top. I haven’t photographed the other as of yet but plan to shortly…

Is that as in “heavens to mergatroid guv’nor”? Who said that anyway? Sylvester the cat?

Whatever …... This is another nice idea and a very stylish shelf set Greg. You have definitely found another niche to go along with the sculpted box niche.

Well done

NICE !!! If you keep this up, Greg, you’re going to have to change your name.

Mergatroid has been stuck in my head for a mighty long time but I can’t remember where I heard it. I was thinking Red Skelton but not sure…

Maybe we can change it to “Mr. Burns?” LOL! You’re on a creative role sculptor guy!

It was Sylvester. Can hear it now. Use to watch a lot of cartoons, as there were a lot of 40’s greats for Saturday afternoons.

Very Very nice Greg, I really want to thank you for posting this as you just lit a candle in my head, I have several scrap pieces of mesquite that I’ve been wanting to do something with for wall art and so now I know what they are to become. :)

Hope they are doing well for you. I think it’s a classy design.

Thanks everyone…These hanging wall pieces provide a solution for all the wall space in my booth that was not being used by the displays for my boxes. Extra wall space = more varied inventory = more $$$
