Bowl is unfinished, it’s approx 6 1/2×2 1/2. I’ve left it unfinished because I do not know what kind of wood it is and thought maybe some jock might identify it. Beautiful wood, super dense and very hard. Has a holographic thing going on too, looking at the grain from one angle it’s light and from another angle it’s dark.

Isn’t this the acacia? color does match and acacia for sure is super dense and very hard. One thing I miss are it’s golden stripes along the grain when the light shines on. At least my pieces have such appearance, which I hope are not caused by thermal process

I don’t know that much about wood, but that sure looks like walnut to me. Walnut is very hard. I like the shape of your bowl a lot. I turned an identical shaped salad bowl in birch many years ago and although it is a simple shape, it is still my favorite one, but I like yours even more because of the wood.
